Many couples say, “I do” in Grand Cayman every year. This beautiful island is a lovely romantic spot to say your vows as husband and wife. What could be more lovely than to get married in one of the most beautiful natural settings on earth?

Rest assured that you can get married the very same day you arrive in the Grand Cayman, but you must have certain documents:

  • A non-residents marriage license
  • A letter for the authorized Marriage Officer who will officiate

At the Passport and Corporate Services Office you can find both applications for the non-resident marriage license and a list of licensed Marriage Officers. The non-resident marriage license is $250 for U.S.A. residents (check for the price for other country residents). The office is:

Telephone 345-943-7678

Fax 345-945-4355

Remember that you’ll also need to give the following information to get a non-resident marriage license:

  • Proof of your citizenship and age. This can be done with your passport or original or certified copy of a birth certificate. (Note: 18 is the minimum legal age to wed without parental consent).
  • Proof of current marital status (including divorce decree or death certificate if appropriate).
  • For cruise ship passengers you’ll need a Cayman Islands International embarkation/disembarkation card. Others may need a Cayman Islands Immigration Department card.
  • Two witnesses for your ceremony

Your Grand Cayman wedding will be memorable and beautiful. There’s nothing like getting married in the Grand Cayman! Remember to plan ahead so you’ll have the proper documents needed for your wedding in Grand Cayman. Contact the offices by telephone, fax or e-mail with any questions or to confirm that you have the proper paperwork.

Tips for getting your paperwork done easily and keeping it organized:

The moment you’ve decided you want to hold your wedding in Grand Cayman, begin your paperwork so you can be sure you can hold your wedding here.

Keep all of your paperwork and information in one place. An easy solution is to get an accordion folder from an office supply store and keep all Grand Cayman wedding paperwork in this. You can carry it with you if needed.

Also store your paperwork in the same place all the time. There’s nothing to make a couple more frantic than the thought of losing their paperwork! Keep your paperwork always in the same location. Keep things simple as you stay organized.
